With twice the pickup width of our 18-inch model, this larger unit is ideal for bigger lawns and heavy black walnut coverage – helping you clean up faster with less effort. Clearing a 36” wide path, it easily gathers black walnuts and deposits them into removable baskets – no constant bending, raking, or scooping required. With dual baskets, you can collect up to 10 gallons of walnuts before needing to empty the baskets. When the baskets are full, simply lift out, empty, and drop them back in to keep going. Black walnuts can vary in size. Please measure the average diameter of your black walnuts and choose the appropriate harvester above. If upon receiving your harvester you discover it is not the appropriate size for picking up your black walnuts, please contact us and we will send you the free parts to convert your harvester at home**.
The majority of black walnuts are SMALL in size.
If your black walnuts are under 2-1/4″, choose the SMALL harvester (pick SMALL if they’re smaller than a racquetball)
If your black walnuts are 2-1/4″ or larger (up to 3 ¼”) choose the MEDIUM harvester (size of a racquetball or larger)

Worked better than I thought it would. I have large and small walnuts. Didnt pick up all the nuts but maybe 90%. Have to go over the same area a few times. Leaves tend to jam it up. Solved that by raising the mower and running it to mulch & blow the leaves away. Now I need to work on a deflector in the center. To many nuts pass through that gap. If you have something for that let me know? Made a hitch to pull it off to the side so I didn’t drive over the nuts. Nut picking is almost fun now.
For many years, I tried a lot of different methods for picking up walnuts. My front yard is full of walnuts. My 36″ Pull-Behind Black Walnut Picker is so efficient at picking up walnuts, I no longer stress at having to pick up thousands of walnuts every fall. I just used this for the first time and it works exactly as you would hope it to. The only “issue” I have with the pull behind unit is the gap between the two wheel sections. I’m sure with more practice I’ll learn how to run it more efficiently, but that would be the only improvement I’d like to see. Great unit overall!
We received this very quickly. After first use and because of the weather, the walnuts were not at their peak. It did pick up 30% of them with ease. We ordered the conversion kit, and it was shipped out very quickly as well.
